Welcome to Music FunTime, where the magical connection of math and science through music is brought to life in an innovative group program designed for children ages 18 months to 5 years. Unlike typical preschool music programs, Music FunTime is a structured, progressive curriculum inspired by Johns-Hopkins research, proving that children as young as seven and under can learn to read music notation and symbols, eventually mastering musical instruments.
A Unique Approach to Early Music Education
Music FunTime is not just a playgroup where children sing, dance, and play instruments. Our program is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that offers a unique learning experience. With small group classes of just four children, we provide individualized attention to maximize each student's learning capabilities. By changing activities every five minutes, we cater to children's attention spans, making learning dynamic and engaging.
What Sets Music FunTime Apart?
Our classes combine crafts, worksheets, games, and instruments to teach children how to play and read music in a fun and exciting way. Each lesson is designed to be engaging and educational, ensuring that children look forward to their weekly music classes.
Theory:Â We teach children to read music using colorful teaching tools and worksheets that cover rhythm, pitch, notation, symbols, and key signatures, much like how they learn letters and numbers.
Instruments:Â At registration, students receive a backpack of rhythm instruments to use in class and at home. They will also be introduced to piano, guitar, percussion, violin, bells, kazoos, and flutophones throughout the course.
Crafts:Â Our musical crafts lessons make learning music theory enjoyable and artistic.
Performance:Â Students will learn stage performance, performing for their teacher, classmates, and families, fostering confidence and an understanding of listening to others.
The Benefits of Music FunTime
The benefits of Music FunTime extend beyond music. Research from Johns-Hopkins and other institutions has highlighted the connection between music and enhanced brain development. Music and math activities stimulate both hemispheres of the brain, promoting skills like abstract reasoning, spatial-temporal conceptualization, and essential math abilities.
Testimonials from Delighted Parents
Parents have seen remarkable improvements in their children's confidence, communication skills, attention spans, and overall appreciation for music. Here's what some of our parents have to say:

Emory and Kai Brow:Â "Our daughter is more confident, and communicative, and has developed an increased attention span, in addition to a growing appetite and appreciation for various types of music and musical instruments. All of this, and she is not even 2 years old!"
Renee Chalmu: "The structure of your class and your patience makes learning very easy. My 4-year-old and 2-year-old enjoy the excitement that you bring with the in-class projects and games.
