Musical Theatre Vocal Workshop
What is it?

The workshop will focus on building students’ musical theatre song repertoire that will be useful for auditions and/or performances.

Students will learn how to choose songs that will fit each of their current needs, voice types and aspirations.

Students will build a knowledge of classical and contemporary musical theatre-style of singing as well as a knowledge of that genre of music itself.

Musical theatre requires vocal stamina. Students will learn vocal techniques that will help them maintain healthy vocal habits as they grow.

The goal will be to grow student’s knowledge, passion, and competency for singing along with building the vocalists on stage presence, confidence, and performance.
Who is it for?
Beginner and intermediate vocal students ages 8-16 who are interested in musical theatre or stage performance in general
About Our Coach
Napa School of Music’s Musical Theatre VOCAL Workshop
Instructor, Molly Blackmon
​
Napa School of Music piano/voice teacher, Molly Blackmon, has directed many musicals including The Addams Family, Godspell, Nonsense, The Descendants and many variety and cabaret shows featuring musical theatre songs and performers while she was with the Opelika Theatre Company in Opelika, Alabama. Molly has worked professionally on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in San Francisco. She has over 15 years of theatrical experience.
When is the workshop?
8-week workshop session begins Saturday, March 4, 2023
Beginner class -Saturday 9AM-11AM
Intermediate class - Saturday 11AM-1:00PM
