Safety Protocols For Napa School Of Music

At Napa School of Music, the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff is
our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure, welcoming, and
professionally managed environment where students can learn and grow with
confidence.


1. Staff Screening & Professional Standards

  • All staff members and instructors undergo background checks prior to

employment.

  • Instructors are carefully selected based on experience, professionalism, and

commitment to student safety.

  • Staff are trained on appropriate student interaction and safety procedures.

  • Napa School of Music maintains clear professional boundaries between staff and

students at all times.

2. Studio Visibility & Transparency

  • All teaching studios are equipped with windows that are visible from the hallways.

  • This open design promotes transparency and helps families feel comfortable and

confident.

  • The studio layout supports student safety while maintaining a positive and non-

  • intimidating learning environment.

 

3. Check-In & Pick-Up Procedures

  • Parents/guardians/students must check students in and out for camps and group

programs.

  • If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking up students, the Front Desk

must be notified. Students will not be released to anyone not listed without direct

parent/guardian approval.

  • Late pick-ups should be communicated to the front office.

 

4. Facility Safety

  • All rooms and common areas are kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.

  • Instruments and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained.

  • Emergency exits are clearly marked and unobstructed.

  • Staff are familiar with evacuation routes and emergency procedures.


5. Health & Wellness

  • Students and staff who are feeling ill are asked to remain at home.

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility.

  • High-touch surfaces and shared equipment are cleaned routinely.

  • Parents are encouraged to notify the school of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or special considerations.


6. Emergency Preparedness

  • Emergency contact information is kept current for all students.

  • First aid supplies are maintained on site.

  • Emergency drills and procedures are reviewed periodically.


7. Behavior & Conduct Expectations

  • Napa School of Music maintains a respectful and positive environment.

  • Bullying, unsafe conduct, or misuse of instruments/equipment is not permitted.

  • Students are expected to follow instructor's directions at all times.

  • Parents will be promptly notified of any safety or behavioral concerns.
