One of the most popular instruments that people learn to play is the piano. If you're an adult who's never played before, don't worry - it's never too late to start! These basic piano lessons for adults will give you a good foundation on which to build your musical skills.

The first thing you need to know is how to sit at the piano. You should be sitting up straight, with your back away from the bench (the part where you sit). Your feet should be flat on the floor. Place your right hand on middle C, and your left hand on the group of two black keys above middle C. This is called "home position."

Now that you're in home position, let's try playing a few notes. Use your right hand to play the following notes: C, D, E, F, G. Now use your left hand to play: C, D, E, F, G. You should now be able to play a scale with both hands!

Now that you know how to sit at the piano and play a scale, let's learn a few chords. A chord is simply two or more notes played together. The most basic chord is a triad, which is made up of three notes. To play a major triad in the key of C, use your right hand to play C (the root note), E (the third), and G (the fifth). You can also play this chord with your left hand, using the notes C, G, and E.

Now that you know how to play some basic chords, let's put them together and play a simple song. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is a great song to start with because it only uses a few chords. To play it in the key of C, use the following chords: C, G, F, and C.

That's it! These are just a few of the basics when it comes to playing the piano. With a little practice, you'll be able to play your favorite songs in no time!
